Even without Marta, Brazil eliminates France, shocks the Olympics and advances to the semifinals

The 2-0 defeat to Spain had complicated the survival of the Brazilian women's football team in the Paris Olympic Games. Despite the difficulties in qualifying, losing two games in the group stage, the players managed to qualify and, soon after, snatched the qualification from the home team.

In the campaign, Arthur Elias' team beat Nigeria by a narrow 1-0 score, was defeated by Japan in a comeback in injury time, and lost to Spain, current world champions and favorites for Olympic gold.

Now, in search of a place in the big decision, Brazil will have the chance to take revenge against the Spanish, next Tuesday (6).
